This is a third issue variant of Smith & Wesson’s .22 caliber model no. 1, featuring a 7 shot fluted cylinder and bird’s head grip. Made from 1868-1881. The gun is complete and mechanically sound. Finish on the metal has a gray/brown patina. The rosewood grips are solid and intact, with the original finish. The cylinder rotates properly and stays fairly tight when the hammer is cocked. The hinged barrel unit has some side to side play. The bore shows pitting, but still strong rifling. Serial number is 128682. FFL not required.
